During the Liberation War, Sepoy Ansuya Prasad as a soldier of 10 Mahar Regiment of the Indian Army charged through enemy defences. He embraced martyrdom while destroying the enemy trenches and bunkers in the battle of Shamshernagar Airport in Sylhet. His gallant action contributed to the victory. For his bravery, Indian Government awarded him Maha Vir Chakra. In recognition of his great contribution towards the Liberation War, Shaheed Sepoy Ansuya Prasad Maha Vir Chakra is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour (Posthumous).
