CITATION
After witnessing the tribulations and sufferings of the refugees in the camps, the American poet Allen Ginsberg wrote a unique poem titled 'September on Jessore Road'. In his poem, Allen Ginsberg portrayed the grim picture of the inhuman conditions under which the refugees lived in the camps, the atrocities carried out by the barbaric Pakistan Army on the innocent Bangalees and about the sufferings of the refugees. This poem appealed to the conscience of the people all around the world. For his remarkable role in the Liberation War, Allen Ginsberg is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour (Posthumous).
