Senator William B. Saxbe repeatedly raised the issue of genocide and democratic struggle at Senate meetings. It was due to Senator William Saxbe and Senator Frank Church's proposal and acceptance of the Resolution, that the US Government was forced to impose arms sanction on Pakistan. For his role in making US Government stop sending arms to Pakistan during our Liberation War, Senator William B. Saxbe is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour (Posthumous).
