During the Liberation War, Janab Habib Jalib was a leader of National Awami Party of Pakistan. He delivered speeches against genocide in different forums and wrote poems on the atrocities committed in Bangladesh. He was imprisoned for expressing opinion against the Pakistani rulers but he remained steadfast in his conviction. For taking a firm stand towards the cause of Bangladesh despite living in Pakistan, Janab Habib Jalib is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour (Posthumous).
