CITATION
During the Liberation War, when the Mukti Bahini artillery battery was being raised in Kukital of Assam, Captain Manmohan Sagar Duggal provided guidance in providing training, vehicles and equipments. He was untiring in his effort in assisting the Freedom Fighters. During the Battle of Shamshernagar on 30 September, he charged with the infantry battalion as forward observer and was martyred short of enemy bunkers. Captain Duggal and his two brothers fought as Mitra Bahini officers in the Bangladesh Liberation War. For his supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty, the Indian Army cited his name in the 'Mention of Dispatch'. For his great contribution to the Liberation War of Bangladesh, Shaheed Captain Manmohan Sagar Duggal is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour (Posthumous).
