A trusted colleague of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Raman, Janab Master Khan GuI was the Vice Chairman of All Pakistan Awami League. He was the editor and publisher of 'Bange Haram', the party newspaper of Awami League. After the genocide started and Awami League was banned as a political party, he went underground and relentlessly tried to form public opinion against the genocide and the release of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from jail. He assisted many Bangalees who were interned in Pakistan to cross over to Afghanistan for their journey to Bangladesh. For his great contribution to the Liberation War of Bangladesh, Janab Master Khan Gul is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour (Posthumous).
