During the Liberation War, Anthony Laurence Clifton was a reporter of 'Newsweek'. His reports bore testimony to the operations of Freedom Fighters and the genocide by Pakistan Army. Through his writings he informed people worldwide about the situation in Bangladesh. In June 1971, he visited the refugee camps and published factual reports which helped create public opinion. For his great contribution in the Liberation War, Anthony Laurence Clifton is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour.
