Dr Kirsten Westergaard was the Chairman of the Bangladesh Action Committee in Denmark. She was present in Dhaka on the fateful night of 25 March, 1971 and witnessed the killings, torture and genocide unleashed by the barbaric Pakistan regime over the innocent people of Bangladesh. Through regular press conferences and news bulletins she made the Danish public aware of the genocide carried out in Bangladesh. For her great contribution to our Liberation War, Dr Kirsten Westergaard is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour.
