CITATION
During the Liberation War, as a student of St. Joseph College, Darjeeling, Dasho Karma Dorjee volunteered to help in the refugee camps in West Dinajpur, West Bengal under the aegis of CARITAS. He distributed clothes and food rations; assisted the parademic team to treat sick refugees and injured Freedom Fighters. He was in charge of a school opened for the refugee children. He helped in transportation of refugees to independent Bangladesh and accompanied the last batch of the refugees to Dinajpur. For his great contribution towards the Liberation War, Dasho Karma Dorjee is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour.
