The famous artist Janab Maqbool Fida Husain Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, Padmashree came forward to support the Liberation War. His paintings on the genocide and Liberation War helped in garnering worldwide public support in favour of Bangladesh. He collected funds through his painting exhibitions and donated their sales proceeds to the refugee camps. For his remarkable support and contribution towards the Liberation War, Janab Maqbool Fida Husain Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, Padmashree is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour (Posthumous).
