Shri Sunil Dasgupta and his wife Shrimati Barbara Dasgupta made immense contribution to our Liberation War in 1971 when they were residing in Berlin in East Germany. They initiated several projects to raise funds to support the people of Bangladesh. In June 1971, they had arranged a cultural programme and collected fund to support the refugees. He and his wife played a big role in making the Socialist Unity Party of East Germany to support our Liberation War. They both specially provided support for the injured Freedom Fighters’ treatment. For his role and contribution in our Liberation War, Shri Sunil Dasgupta is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour.
