During the Liberation War, Professor Stephen Alan Marglin of Harvard University published an article titled ‘Hope for Bangladesh’ together with his colleagues Prof. Edward S Mason and Robert Dorfmann. In this article, it was opined that the atrocities in Bangladesh must be stopped and the birth of Bangladesh was a reality. This article sensitized the whole world. He promoted the cause of Bangladesh in Washington DC. He, along with Prof. Papanek, published another report, which helped to enhance global awareness in favour of Bangladesh. For his great contribution, Stephen Alan Marglin is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour.
