During the Liberation War, the famous singer Shri Hemanta Kumar Mukhapadhay performed in programmes organized to promote awareness, provide inspiration and extend support to the cause of Liberation War. His songs inspired not only the Freedom Fighters, but also Bangladeshis as a whole to sustain in those difficult times. For his great contribution in the Liberation War, Shri Hemanta Kumar Mukhapadhay is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour (Posthumous).
