CITATION
During the Liberation War, Shri Dhiraj Choudhury created many paintings highlighting the Bangladesh Liberation War. An exhibition of these paintings was held at Kunika Art Centre in Delhi on 28 August 1971. The undaunted spirit of Bangladesh's struggle, and the tyranny, persecution and anguish suffered by the people of Bangladesh were vividly reflected in his paintings. Prime Minister Shrimati Indira Gandhi appreciated his effort. The agony in canvas created by Shri Dhiraj Choudhury helped in raising public awareness in favour of Bangladesh in the world arena. The sale proceeds of the exhibition were donated to the Bangladesh fund. For his remarkable support and contribution, Shri Dhiraj Choudhury is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour.
