During the Liberation War, Janab Faiz Ahmed Faiz wrote a number of poems on the genocide committed in Bangladesh and the anguishes, severity and sufferings faced by the oppressed people. Despite repeated warnings and regular intimidations of the Pakistani regime, he remained steadfast in upholding the just causes. For his great contribution, Janab Faiz Ahmed Faiz is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour (Posthumous).
