During the Liberation War, Shri Mohanlal Saha was an active member of the Citizen's Committee set up by the Governor of Tripura, Shri A L Dias. As the General Secretary of Tripura Trade Association, he was involved in collecting fund for purchase of food and medicine for the refugees. He also arranged to collect fund from Ramkrishna Mission, Bharat Sevashram Sangha and wealthy citizens and sent them to refugee camps. For his great contribution, Shri Mohanlal Saha is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour.
