CITATION
During the Liberation War, Dr Tariq Rahman was a young officer of Pakistan Army, who being terribly disturbed by the atrocities committed by Pakistan Army, resigned from the Army. He raised voice against the genocide committed by Pakistan Army and earned the wreath of the Military Junta. He researched significantly on the Language Movement and the Bangladeshi culture. In his literary pursuit, he wrote about the atrocities committed by Pakistan Military Junta. He is a strong voice in favour of Pakistan's apology to Bangladesh for the atrocities in 1971. For his great contribution to the Liberation War of Bangladesh, Dr Tariq Rahman is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour.
