CITATION
During the Liberation War, Shri Kishore Parekh captured some of the most heart-wrenching photographs of the struggling people in the refugee camps. These photographs were widely circulated among the international communities, which helped create public opinion in favour of Bangladesh. He accompanied the Mitra Bahini and photographed the campaign to Dhaka. He also took photographs of genocide conducted by Pakistan Army and the dead bodies of the martyred intellectuals in Rayerbazar killing ground. After the liberation, he published a photographic document titled 'Bangladesh: Brutal Birth' which is an outstanding documentation on the Liberation War. For his remarkable support and contribution to the Liberation War of Bangladesh, Shri Kishore Parekh is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour (Posthumous).
