During the Liberation War, Shri Mihir Deb collected information from Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra and the refugees, sent them to the newspapers, and wrote features on them. He relayed the programmes of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra by using his high frequency radio and microphones. He along with his students provided food and medicine to the sick and the wounded in Bisramganj Muktijoddha Hospital and refugee camps. At that time, he wrote a book of poems titled 'Bangladesh, Shadesh O Ami' and these poems were serially published in various newspapers. For his great contribution, Shri Mihir Deb is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour.
