CITATION
During the Liberation War, the benevolent physician Dr. Geofrey Davis came forward to the aid of the women who fell victim to atrocities of the Pakistan Army and their accomplices. He contributed greatly by providing medical treatment to the distressed women and rehabilitated war babies. After independence, he was appointed as the Director of a Project titled 'Bangladesh Rehabilitation Programme' funded by London-based organization 'Population Service International' to assist the distressed women of Bangladesh. Dr. Davis worked for the establishment of clinics and within the shortest possible time trained a group of skilled paramedics. He collected numerous accounts of the atrocities committed during the Liberation War and published research papers/articles in international journals. In recognition of his remarkable contribution, Dr. Geofrey Davis is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour (Posthumous).
