During the Liberation War, the Nepali Congress Leader Shri Chakra Prasad Baslola entered Bangladesh on 16 April 1971 and handed over a truck load of arms to Freedom Fighters. His article based on this incident was published in the then popular tabloid 'Tarun', which created significant impact in Nepal and helped strengthen people's support to Bangladesh. For his great contribution towards the Liberation War, Shri Chakra Prasad Bastola is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour.
