During the Liberation War, Shri Sukharanjan Dasgupta was the chief correspondent of the 'Anandabazar'. From 7 March 1971 until the end of Liberation War, he published many articles in favour of Bangladesh. He attended the oath taking ceremony of the Bangladesh Government in Mujibnagar. He regularly published the news on the battle fronts of Bogra, Kushtia, Khulna and Dinajpur. He provided all out cooperation to Prime Minister Tajuddin Ahmed. For his great contribution towards the Liberation War, Shri Sukharanjan Dasgupta is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour.
