During the Liberation War, Shri Khagen Das extended all out support to the people of Bangladesh. He vacated his two large houses in Ramnagar Road and his village homes in Shonamura to give shelters to the refugees coming from Bangladesh and provided them with all required assistance. He regularly organized public meetings and demonstrations in favour of Bangladesh. For his great contribution towards the Liberation War, Shri Khagen Das is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour.
