CITATION
Ellen Connet worked for distribution of food and medicine through 'Operation Omega' and 'Action Bangladesh' to the suffering masses of Bangladesh. She was arrested while distributing relief materials inside Bangladesh and was imprisoned for two years. While in Jessore jail, she discovered that she was pregnant. She was released from imprisonment after the Liberation War and gave birth to her child in 1972. She named her child after the name of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as Peter William Mujib Connet. For her sincere love and support for the people of Bangladesh and remarkable contribution to the Liberation War of Bangladesh, Ellen Connet is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour.
