During the Liberation War, Shrimati Anjali Lahiri collected funds and arranged distribution of relief in refugee camps. She was frequently seen in refugee camps in Cherapunji and Meghalaya areas. She used to distribute relief materials in the training and operational camps of Freedom Fighters in Bashtala, Tamabil, Mailam, etc. Freedom Fighters used to address her as 'Jagot Ma' (Universal Mother). For her remarkable contribution to the Liberation War, Shrimati Anjali Lahiri is awarded Friends of Liberation War Honour.
